DOJ Keeps Albanese Sanction Executive Order in Place for Now

The US government’s executive order that would sanction UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese for comments related to the Israel-Palestinian conflict will remain in effect, the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit said.

The appeals court’s May 22 order granting an administrative stay said Trump administration officials can continue to implement and enforce the designation of Albanese as a designated foreign national under executive order 14203, an action Albanese’s family members alleged is a free speech violation.
