The Democratic National Committee is free for now of a negligence claim stemming from a 16-year-old volunteer’s alleged abuse at the hands of a field organizer twice her age during the 2012 presidential campaign.
The former teenage volunteer didn’t plausibly allege the DNC negligently supervised the organizer—who she says manipulated her into an unwanted sexual relationship when she was a high school student—or failed to report suspected child abuse, but she can add supporting details in an amended complaint, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said Tuesday.
