Diversity Visa Winners Sue Over Trump Travel Ban Restrictions

More than 100 would-be immigrants from Afghanistan, Burma, Togo, Somalia, and Iran allege the Trump administration’s travel ban has illegally blocked processing of their visas.

The group includes 55 winners of the diversity visa lottery as well as their dependent beneficiaries. Plaintiffs have already lost employment opportunities because of visa delays, their lawsuit in the US District Court for the District of Columbia says. If their visas aren’t issued by the end of the fiscal year on September 30, they will be forfeited.
