Distribution Company to Pay $709,000 to Settle Sex Bias Lawsuit

Kenneth O. Lester Company, Inc., which does business as PFG Customized Distribution – Indiana, has agreed to pay $709,971 and furnish additional relief to settle a sex discrimination lawsuit, the EEOC announced Thursday.

The company allegedly refused to hire female applicants for order selector positions at its Kendallville, Ind., warehouse because of their sex, and expressly stated sex-based criteria for the position, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said.

The EEOC also alleged the company assigned female employees to a section of the warehouse where they had less earning potential.
