Distillery Loses Court Appeal to Federal Labor Board Decision

An Oregon liquor maker failed in its appeals court challenge to an NLRB ruling that it violated federal labor law by unilaterally changing its union workers’ job terms in the midst of negotiations over a collective bargaining agreement.

The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Friday rejected Hood River Distillers Inc.’s argument that it could impose new employment terms because of the union’s delay tactics, and deferred to the National Labor Relations Board’s reasonable ruling against the company.
