Disneyland Workers to Receive $233 Million in Wage Settlement

Walt Disney Co. will pay $233 million to settle a lawsuit regarding back wages for more than 50,000 employees at its theme parks in Anaheim, Calif.

  • The case concerns a 2018 citywide measure mandating a minimum wage
  • Randy Renick, an attorney for the Disneyland staffers, said it was the largest wage and hour settlement in California history
  • “We are pleased that this matter is nearing resolution,” a Disney spokesperson said in a statement. All park employees now make at least the minimum $19.90 an hour requirement and 95% of them make more, she said
