Disney, Two NBA Teams Promise Ongoing Pay for Workers (1)

Disney World and at least two NBA teams so far announced they’re making plans to keep paying hourly workers while operations are suspended due to the new coronavirus, although many more leisure-industry workers could go without pay.

Disney said late Thursday it will close its Florida and Paris theme parks this weekend through the end of March, along with halting new departures of the Disney Cruise Line. The company said it plans to continue paying the hourly workers known as “cast members” during the shutdown.
