DISH Network Satellite Installers’ Overtime Suit Advances

Satellite Country Inc., a DISH Network Corp. affiliate, must face overtime claims brought by a group of satellite installation technicians in Louisiana who say they’re misclassified as independent contractors, a federal court ruled.

The technicians’ testimony about the amount and extent of their work, and evidence that they complained about it, is enough to put the determinative facts in dispute, even though Satellite Country didn’t record their time, Judge Terry A. Doughty of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana said Wednesday.
