Dick’s Sporting Goods Covid Firing Claims Head to Federal Court

Dick’s Sporting Goods will face claims that it discriminated against an employee and retaliated against him for calling in sick with Covid, in a Southern District of Florida proceeding.

Plaintiff Feguens St. Pierre, who is Haitian and Black, alleges the sporting goods chain discriminated against him due to his race, color, and national origin by penalizing him and ultimately firing him after taking the leave in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Florida Civil Rights Act.
