A district court judge has denied the Biden administration’s request to remove an administrative stay of a program offering immigrant family members of US citizens a pathway to permanent residency.

Judge J. Campbell Barker also extended the pause on the Keeping Families Together program until Sept. 23 in a Wednesday order.

The Department of Homeland Security argued in a motion to vacate the original administrative stay Tuesday that relief to Republican states suing to block the program was improper because they hadn’t established standing.
