DeSantis Takes Aim Again at Workplace DEI Despite Court Loss

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is renewing his efforts to restrict mandatory diversity, equity, and inclusion training in private workplaces despite a recent federal appeals court decision finding the state’s 2022 “Stop WOKE” law unconstitutional.

Mandatory training sessions that say employees are inherently racist or sexist based on their race or sex can create a hostile work environment under existing state law, the governor said during a press conference Thursday. DeSantis plans administrative action to address the issue, he added.

The governor’s office didn’t immediately respond to a request for more information.
