DePaul Professor Loses Appeal Over Palestinian-Israeli Article

DePaul University didn’t defame a professor who published an article stating Israel has a moral right to annex Palestinian lands, an appellate court held.

Jason D. Hill, a tenured DePaul philosophy professor, charged his employer with breach of contract, defamation, and interference with prospective economic advantage after the publication of his article, “The Moral Case for Israel Annexing the West Bank—And Beyond,” led to campus demonstrations and a Faculty Council condemnation resolution.
