DePaul University and a Black, Asian former communications professor asked the court to dismiss her retaliation suit that alleged she was denied tenure after filing discrimination complaints.
The US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed Lisa Calvente’s case April 14 after the parties filed a stipulation for dismissal the day before. The parties didn’t immediately respond to Bloomberg Law’s requests for comment, but told the court that they agreed to dismiss the case with prejudice, with each party paying its own attorneys’ fees and costs. A jury trial was set to begin Dec. 4.
