Democrats’ New Labor Bill May Test White House Hopefuls

Congressional Democrats are proposing a far-reaching bill that would bolster workers’ organizing rights, prohibit the misclassification of workers as independent contractors, and walk back U.S. Supreme Court decisions on employee arbitration and union fee collection.

The legislation will also likely test the labor bona fides of Democrats looking to unseat President Donald Trump in the White House.
