Democrats Question Meatpackers After Child Labor Findings (1)

Senate Democrats are demanding answers from Cargill Inc., JBS Foods, Tyson Foods Inc., and other companies that contracted with a sanitation firm linked to migrant child labor.

Sens. Bob Menendez and Cory Booker of New Jersey sent letters Tuesday to meatpacking and food companies that contracted with Packers Sanitation Services Inc. The sanitation firm paid fines this year after the Labor Department said it was violating federal labor laws by employing minors in dangerous jobs.
