Delta’s State Versus Federal Law Case Rejected By Supreme Court

The U.S. Supreme Court won’t consider whether Delta Air Lines Inc. flight attendants who fly in and out of California airports fall under the state’s wage and hour laws rather than federal regulations.

The justices declined on Monday to hear the case from stemming from a ruling from the California Supreme Court that said “interstate transportation workers” are subject to the state’s wage-and-hour-laws as long as they begin their shifts at a California airport. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit upheld the new approach and said it didn’t burden interstate commerce.
