Delta Mechanic’s Sex Discrimination Claims Tossed Before Trial

Delta Air Lines Inc. defeated a lawsuit alleging it denied a female mechanic promotions, paid her male colleagues more, and made her take an aptitude test it let men skip.

The worker waited too long to bring her promotion-based claims, abandoned her equal pay allegations, and didn’t provide an example of a male coworker with the same job title who wasn’t required to take the test, the US District Court for the District of Utah said. There might be a pipeline problem for women in Delta mechanical roles, but there’s no evidence of discriminatory hiring, the Wednesday opinion added. ...
