Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd. and Deloitte Touche LLP maintain a policy of refusing to let women who take more than 12 weeks of parental leave return to their jobs or find other positions within the companies, a class lawsuit filed Tuesday in federal court in Manhattan charges.

The discriminatory policy penalizes women for becoming pregnant and taking time off to bond with their newborns while not similarly penalizing new fathers, former security senior manager Saxon Knight says.
