Delaware Governor Signs $15 Minimum Wage, Phasing in by 2025 (1)

Delaware’s minimum wage will increase gradually to $15 per hour by 2025, under legislation signed by Gov. John Carney.

The measure puts President Joe Biden’s home state among 10 states plus the District of Columbia with laws that phase in a $15 wage floor.

Biden has pushed for a $15 minimum wage nationwide, but a procedural ruling in the narrowly divided U.S. Senate prevented the proposal from being included in coronavirus relief legislation that Democrats passed on a party-line vote in March.
