Deadline Approaches for Agency Regulatory Guidance

Federal agencies are required to post all guidance documents explaining their regulations to one website by Friday, under an executive order signed by President Trump last October.

Challenge Posed: Agencies had four months to sort potentially hundreds of thousands of documents, emails, press releases or videos that could constitute guidance under the order’s broad definition.

Public Benefit: Regulated entities and the public will benefit enormously from the transparency that easy, searchable access to agency guidance documents will bring, supporters say. Cheryl Bolen has the story.
