D.C. Worker Gets Full Appeals Court to Review Sex Bias Claims

A woman who worked for the District of Columbia attorney general’s office and was denied multiple requests to be reassigned to another unit will get her sex bias claim reviewed by the full D.C. Circuit.

Mary E. Chambers, who became a support enforcement specialist within the office of the attorney general’s child support division in 2000, sought and was denied multiple bids for a lateral transfer to the intake unit within the same division. The district court granted summary judgment to the District of Columbia on Chambers’ sex discrimination and retaliation claims.
