CVS Pharmacists, Retail Workers Finalize $9.75 Million Wage Deal

A $9.75 million settlement between CVS Pharmacy Inc. and more than 20,000 pharmacists and retail employees across California received final approval from a federal judge in Los Angeles, ending protracted litigation over alleged state wage and hour violations.

Judge Andre Birotte Jr. approved class counsel to receive about $2.59 million in attorneys’ fees and $32,385 for litigation costs, $43,000 worth of service awards for the five lead plaintiffs, and $98,750 in settlement administration fees.

The class members will thus split about $6.67 million under the deal’s terms. The deal also allocates $75,000 in penalties under California’s Private Attorneys General Act. ...
