Curaleaf Holdings Inc., which operates cannabis dispensaries across the country, is facing accusations that it stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in tips from at least 50 employees, in a new lawsuit filed in a federal court in Illinois.
The proposed collective action was filed under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Illinois wage law by Morgan Heller, who worked at a Curaleaf location in Northbrook, Ill., from September 2020 to October 2021. Heller seeks to represent other hourly paid store employees employed at Curaleaf locations in Illinois and across the country.
