CTCI Americas Inc. defeated workers’ attempt to revive a lawsuit alleging the company owes them pay, when an appeals court Thursday affirmed the four highly-paid individuals fall under an overtime exemption.
The engineering, procurement, and construction services company put forth enough evidence to show that the workers—who earned annual salaries ranging from $130,000 to $250,000—qualified for a Fair Labor Standards Act carveout for bona fide executives, the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit said in an unpublished opinion.
