CT Transit To Face Bus Drivers’ Bias Suit Over Allergic Reaction

CT Transit, a subsidiary of Connecticut’s Department of Transportation, must face disability discrimination and retaliation claims brought by bus drivers who had allergic reactions to disinfectants it used to clean buses.

Long-time bus operators Clifford McCrae, Garrett Brown, and Nastassia Campbell sufficiently alleged that their allergies qualify as disabilities, the US District Court for the District of Connecticut ruled Wednesday. And their withdrawn OSHA whistleblower complaint doesn’t bar them from bringing a retaliation claim under the National Transit Systems Security Act, it said.
