Baristas who were temporarily laid off from a small coffee chain in Western New York due to the Covid-19 pandemic can vote on whether to oust the union representing the company’s workers, the National Labor Relations Board ruled.
The nine Gimme Coffee Inc. baristas who were out of work at the time of the decertification had a reasonable expectation of recall in the near future, making them eligible to vote, a three-member NLRB panel of Democrats said in its Thursday decision.
