Michigan law protects workers from sexual orientation discrimination, the state’s high court ruled Thursday.
The ruling found that the words “because of sex” in Michigan’s civil rights law protect workers from being terminated because of who date or marry. The ruling follows and the 2020 landmark U.S. Supreme Court Bostock v. Clayton CO.ruling, which contained similar reasoning.
