A black human resources director for the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice, who alleged administrators passed her over for a promotion and selected an unqualified white candidate then directed a supervisor to find a way to fire her, can proceed with her discrimination and retaliation claims, a federal judge ruled Jan. 8 (Purdie v. City Univ. of N.Y., 2015 BL 4148, S.D.N.Y., 1:13-cv-06423, unpublished 1/8/15).
