NEW YORK—The Cornell University Industrial and Labor Relations School is readying for the formal launch of a new Worker Institute as a vehicle to link researchers, educators, and students with practitioners in labor, business, and policymaking, the institute’s directors said Aug. 15.
Set for Sept. 12, the launch comes at a “historic juncture” in a period of crisis and conflict over organized labor and worker issues, Lowell Turner, the institute’s academic director, told reporters at a briefing.
