Igloo Products Corp., a Texas-based maker of insulated coolers and drinkware, will pay $21,000 in fines and be subject to a three-year monitoring period as part of a settlement agreement over alleged immigration violations.
A Department of Justice investigation concluded the company illegally reserved seasonal jobs for immigrant workers with H-2B non-agricultural worker visas instead of hiring U.S. citizens. The company assumed American workers wouldn’t be interested in the positions and failed to consider any U.S. applicants, DOJ said in an announcement of the settlement agreement Monday.
