Convicted Welfare Fraudster Wins Appeal to Restore Gun Rights

A man who was convicted of welfare fraud in 1995 won his appeal to restore his rights to purchase a rifle after challenging a federal law that prevents felons from buying guns.

The US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in a split decision said that despite Bryan Range’s felony conviction, he is still protected by the Second Amendment and the government didn’t show that the country has a history of depriving people like him of their firearms.
