Construction Firm Illegally Turned Back on Union, NLRB Rules

A road construction firm violated federal labor law by refusing to recognize and bargain with a union that’s represented its workers since at least 1993, the National Labor Relations Board ruled.

The NLRB on Friday affirmed an administrative law judge’s 2023 decision against Rieth-Riley Construction Co., one of several ALJ rulings against the company in cases stemming from a dispute with an International Union of Operating Engineers affiliate that started more than six years ago.
