Construction Company Faces Suit for National Origin Harassment

Goodsell/Wilkins, Inc. is being sued by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for allegedly subjecting a group of Latino employees to harassment and retaliation in Orange County, Calif.

Supervisors at the construction contractor allegedly mocked the Latino workers for their English language abilities, referred to them using derogatory speech based on national origin, and left anti-Latino graffiti on work sites, the agency said Tuesday.

One supervisor also sexually harassed Latino workers by showing them explicit pictures, using slurs, and threatening assault, according to the lawsuit.
