Congress Proposes $455 Million for EEOC, Requests AI Feedback

A bipartisan deal by the top congressional appropriators would keep the EEOC’s funding at $455 million for another year, and would ask the agency for further details on its approach to regulating artificial intelligence.

A six-bill $436 billion package for fiscal year 2024 released Sunday by lawmakers, included the Commerce-Justice-Science bill which funds the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The funding for the agency fell $26 million short of its request for an increase from its $455 million budget for the last fiscal year.

The Biden administration’s FY 2024 proposed budget requested $481,069,000 for the EEOC.
