Conduent Can Make Worker Arbitrate Wage, Discrimination Cases

Business services firm Conduent Commercial Solutions LLC can force an employee to arbitrate the wage-and-hour and disability discrimination allegations she raised in two separate cases, a federal judge overseeing both suits said.

The worker’s arbitration agreement with Conduent is valid and her signature on the document is authentic, and the agreement is neither unconscionable nor illusory, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said. The same agreement applies in both cases, and the company didn’t waive its right to arbitrate either set of claims, the nearly identical Wednesday orders said.
