Companies Missing Payroll is Next Test for Virus Enforcement

The coronavirus pandemic has the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division busy enforcing the law for workers owed pay, and not just under new paid leave mandates included in the virus response law. The Covid-19 economy is also giving rise to an emerging trend in workers’ wage complaints: employers are missing payroll because they have no cash on hand.
