Comments on Worker Classification Rule Preview Legal Fight Ahead

Industry groups and management-side attorneys are foreshadowing their potential legal arguments against the Biden administration’s independent contractor rule, suggesting in comments on the proposal that the US Department of Labor violated the regulatory process.

The DOL received more than 55,000 submissions for input on its long-awaited proposal outlining the agency’s approach to independent contractor status under federal wage and hour law.
