Columbia University again avoided a student’s attempt to receive his diploma and vacate sexual assault disciplinary findings after he was expelled for email hacking, after a Manhattan federal court ruling.
The student, identified in court papers only as John Doe, failed to sufficiently allege that Columbia was deliberately indifferent towards any gender-based peer harassment towards him, or that it selectively enforced policy, the US District Court for the Southern District of Manhattan ruled Wednesday.
While the court said he sufficiently alleged standing to pursue injunctive relief, it was barred by lower courts’ rulings.
