Columbia Settles Former Student’s Sex Assault, Gender Bias Suit

Columbia University and a male former student accused of rape and dating violence settled his gender discrimination and Title IX lawsuit Friday.

Due to confidentiality, the former student’s counsel, Andrew T. Miltenberg of Nesenoff & Miltenberg LLP, told Bloomberg Law he is prohibited from saying more than “The matter has been settled.” Columbia declined to comment.

The parties asked the US District Court for the Southern District of New York to dismiss the lawsuit Friday afternoon. Their request is subject to the court’s approval.
