Colorado State Workers Gain Collective Bargaining Rights

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) signed a bill allowing state government employees to collectively bargain on pay, benefits, and conditions and terms of employment, but it doesn’t allow them to strike.

The measure (H.B. 1153) was approved during the regular session of the Colorado General Assembly, which was halted temporarily because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but wrapped up Monday. Polis signed it Tuesday, and it takes effect July 1.
