CNA/NNU Issues Strike Notices to Hospitals With Ongoing Talks in California, Chicago

Nurses at various facilities in California represented by the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United as well as NNU-represented nurses at the University of Chicago Medical Center plan to walk off the job April 30 and May 1 in the midst of prolonged contract talks, the union announced April 20.

In California, some 2,500 workers at five facilities operated by Sutter Health will stage one-day strikes April 30, union spokeswoman Joanne Jung told Bloomberg BNA April 22. About 1,550 nurses will go on strike April 30 at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
