More than 90 civil rights organizations are urging the US Senate to confirm Kalpana Kotagal to serve as an EEOC commissioner, while a handful of other nominees for top labor positions have been derailed or have stagnated.
The National Women’s Law Center, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and other groups signed Wednesday’s letter, citing Kotagal’s “deep knowledge of the law” and experience addressing systemic bias as reasons for why she should be confirmed to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
