Cision Facing Sales Employee Class Suit For Unpaid Overtime

Cision US Inc. was hit with a new lawsuit in a Manhattan federal court alleging it violated federal and state wage laws by deliberately cheating sales representatives out of overtime pay.

The proposed class and collective action was filed by Anatoliy Mikityuk, Mitch Tallungan, and Michael Esquibel, who worked as sales representatives at Cision offices in New York, Chicago, and Beltsville, Md. They sued under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Illinois, Maryland, and New York wage laws.

Cision classifies these employees as exempt from overtime, even though they primarily performed nonexempt duties, the complaint says. The company also regularly ...
