Fischer Connectors Inc. will pay $460,000 to settle an age discrimination lawsuit filed by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in federal district court in Georgia, the agency said Tuesday.
The Swiss-based company, which manufactures circular connectors used in medical devices, allegedly fired its human resources director and replaced her with two younger people after she questioned the plan of a new president and chief executive officer to purposefully replace older management and sales employees with a younger workforce, according to the EEOC.
The EEOC said the alleged conduct violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
