Christian School Challenging Bias Rule Nabs Lasting Injunction

A Christian academy landed a permanent version of an order keeping Colorado from kicking it out of a universal preschool program based on school policies that conflict with state non-discrimination rules.

Colorado didn’t explain why it was willing to exempt some schools—but not Darren Patterson Christian Academy—from rules banning discrimination against students, which “subverts its contention that its stated goal is constitutionally compelling and that its policies are narrowly tailored to achieve it,” the US District Court for the District of Colorado said.
