Chicago Former Union Leader Sentenced For Taking Kickbacks From Union Signatories

CHICAGO—William Dugan, a longtime leader of Local 150 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, has been sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor criminal charges under federal labor statutes, the Justice Department announced Oct. 14 (United States v. Dugan).

In addition to the term of probation, Magistrate Judge Michael Mason of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Oct. 14 ordered Dugan to pay a $30,000 fine and the supervisory costs associated with probation.
