Chamber Seeks Overhaul of DOL Federal Contractor Policy

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is pressing the Labor Department for a policy overhaul at the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.

The Chamber, in a wide-ranging report sent to the DOL this week and provided to Bloomberg BNA Sept. 20, called on the OFCCP to end an Obama-era enforcement posture focusing on pay and hiring bias laws that’s akin to a “mini-plaintiffs law firm.” Instead, as the agency transitions to new political leadership under President Donald Trump, the OFCCP should adopt a more collaborative and transparent process when auditing federal contractor employers, the Chamber said.
