Contour Design, Inc. is entitled to dismissal of claims by two employees that the company violated the New Hampshire Wage Statute by failing to pay them an allegedly promised two percent ownership share of the company as part of their continued employment, a New Hampshire court ruled. A promise of equity in a company does not qualify as “wages” under the NHWS, the court said, because wages only encompass obligations that can be easily calculated and stated in terms of dollars owed.
