A Colorado federal district court granted preliminary approval of class action settlements with Greater Omaha Packing Co., Inc. and Agri Stats, Inc. in a case brought by meat processing plant employees alleging that multiple meat processors conspired to fix and depress employee compensation in violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act, finding that the proposed settlement class met federal civil procedure requirements and that the settlement agreements appeared fair, reasonable, and adequate based on evidence of arm’s length negotiations, serious legal questions, and the value of immediate recovery.
