The Connecticut Supreme Court answered certified questions from the Second Circuit, ruling that under state wage laws, Amazon.com Services, Inc. must compensate warehouse workers for time spent undergoing mandatory security screenings on company premises, finding that the plain language of the statute requires payment for “all time during which an employee is required by the employer to be on the employer’s premises,” and rejecting Amazon’s argument that a de minimis exception applies to state wage laws.
